Heartsaver Education Program
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a life threatening emergency that can happen to anyone one, at anytime. Each year in Australia more than 30,000 people die from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). There are no warning signs, the persons heart stops pumping blood to the vital organs and brain death can start to occur within 3 minutes. Without early intervention the persons chancing of surviving is estimated to be less than 12%.
Survival rates from Sudden Cardiac Arrest can be improved!
When SCA occurs when other people are around, such as works places or sporting facilities, the persons chances of survival can improve significantly if they act quickly by, calling 000, begin CPR and use a Defibrillator.
