Online with Face-to-Face Assessment
We have now introduced a new enhanced online course that enables students to complete the theory assessment online. This is followed by attending a practical session where our trainers will assess your skills. Depending on your experience and skills the online work will take around 3 hours to complete and the face-to-face assessment will take 5.5 hours to complete.
If you have a hearing deficit please contact us and we can arrange for an alternative online theory to be completed.

The combined PUAFER005, PUAFER008 and CPPFES2005 course at RTS Training is designed for anyone nominated as a fire warden or area warden in their workplace’s Emergency Control Organisation. It’s commonly completed by office and administration staff, retail and hospitality workers, warehouse and logistics personnel, building and facility maintenance staff, construction workers, and anyone required by their employer to respond to small fires and emergency situations in the workplace.
The combined course at RTS Training includes three nationally recognised units: PUAFER005 Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation, PUAFER008 Confine Small Emergencies in a Facility, and CPPFES2005 Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment. You receive a statement of attainment for all three units upon successful completion, issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909).
The combined PUAFER005, PUAFER008 and CPPFES2005 course at RTS Training includes approximately 3 hours of self-paced online learning followed by 5.5 hours of face-to-face practical assessment. All online learning must be completed before attending the practical session at our Osborne Park training centre in Perth.
RTS Training runs the combined PUAFER005, PUAFER008 and CPPFES2005 course weekly at our Osborne Park training centre in Perth.
The Fire Warden (PUAFER005) and Confine Small Emergencies (PUAFER008) components of the combined course at RTS Training cover responding to a range of workplace emergency scenarios as outlined in Australian Standard AS 3745-2010. These include small fires that can be controlled using a fire extinguisher, chemical spills that can be managed using personal protective equipment and a spill kit, and vehicle accidents where no significant injury or damage has occurred. You’ll also learn pre-emergency planning, evacuation procedures, reporting to the Chief Warden, and assisting with post-emergency activities.
