Course Information

One of our most popular courses, this first aid refresher course teaches the skills and knowledge to recognise emergencies and provide immediate and effective first aid treatment to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury.

The course covers assessing the casualty, providing safety, accessing emergency services, and using resources to provide first aid, such as providing CPR and using a defibrillator, administering an autoinjector for anaphylaxis, administering asthma medication, assisting someone choking, using appropriate immobilisation techniques for envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains, managing casualties with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock.

This course is suitable for anyone who is looking to refresh their Provide First Aid (HTLTAID003) or Senior First Aid Certificate.

The delivery mode for this course is a combination of online learning, followed by face to face assessment. The online component takes approximately 3 hours and the face to face assessment 2 hours. Please note that all of the online learning must be completed prior to the face to face practical assessment.

Mac and Jess were incredible trainers throughout the advanced first aid course I attended. Both were fantastic trainers who made all students feel at ease and included throughout the entire course.
Claire was our trainer for our first aid course today. Absolutely fantastic, funny and engaging instructor with a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommend RTS and especially Claire.
Had a first aid course for the first time, and I was pretty nervous at first but the trainer Jessica was great. She was explaining things really well, was patient, friendly and understanding. I really liked her style of communication.
RTS is the most convenient and helpful way to do first aid and CPR. Having access to the online training means I can fit it in around a busy schedule. Just completed my face to face learning with Clare, she was knowledgeable, reassuring and entertaining.
I completed the Advanced First Aid and Oxygen therapy courses with trainer Jess. I've been in the fitness industry for 13 years so have completed Basic First Aid many times and the Advanced First Aid once before at RTS in 2020. I have to say Jess is by far the best first aid trainer I have ever encountered. She was professional, articulate and confident, with real life experience as a paramedic in London. She also did very well at making the students feel comfortable to ask questions and learn in a positive environment. Honestly I would hire her to teach me those skills in public speaking 😂The course has also improved greatly since my last time in 2020. The scenarios we had to responsd to as first aiders were well considered and made to feel realistic through costume props/fake blood and Oscar worthy acting skills hahaHighly recommended.Thank you Jess and RTSP.S please give Jess a pay rise!
I had a great experience at my first aid training today. My trainer, Jess was just incredible. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and made the whole experience very fun and informative for everyone. Will tell everyone to come see Jess for their first aid training!
Highly recommend their training, so practical and so helpful, different as the Tasmania first aid training. You’ll carry more knowledge home by the end of the training. I love their courses.
I just completed my first aid on Monday, I had Ally as my trainer and she was excellent. I have done many of these at different places over the years, but RTS is by far the best place I have been. Ally was helpful, explained everything very well and I learnt more this time with Ally than I ever have previously. thanks Ally much appreciated.
Fantastic offering. I recently had the 2 day advanced first aid and oxygen therapy course with Natalie and was surprised when I actually enjoyed the entire experience. Not my usual cup of tea but Nat made the learning fun and easy to grasp. I feel more qualified now than ever before. Will be returning for future training needs.
I had a first aid course with Nigel. It was very informative and interactive whilst quick to get to the point. I enjoyed myself and found it quite entertaining as well as it being taught to me in a way that i obtained lots of knowledge. Great course overall.
I recently completed the Remote First Aid course with RTS (Trainer:Nigel) as part of my work requirements. I was initially pretty reluctant as I have done A LOT of first aid courses over the course of my working career however, RTS delivered an informative and FUN day of essential material. Nigel was knowledgeable, gave clear instruction and had a good sense of humour. He moved things along well while still taking time to answer questions from all attendees. I thoroughly enjoyed the day! and learnt a few new things which was GREAT. Thanks Nigel and all the staff.
Attended a first aid course yesterday after doing the online learning, and it was presented very well by Natalie covered everything and group participation was amazing. Highly recommend using them
I was able to book a session only a day in advance and streamline the process with online learning. Everyone at RTS was lovely and the training was very succinct with a nice small class size. Our instructor Jess was very personable and patient, taking the time to address every query we had which made for the most engaging first aid training course I've ever attended!
Did the first aid course yesterday with Natalie. I normally find these quite repetitive and not engaging. Natalie totally changed that and kept us all interested and engaged whilst also making sure we took away all the important information. Thanks so much Natalie for the great first aid training.
My recent first aid course was a success from start to finish. The sign up was easy and quick, online learning was short and direct, on the day training with Jodie was relevant, thorough and within time limit. The certificate come out that afternoon. Overall 5 stars and highly recommended.
Chose RTS for my first aid and cpr training and had a really good experience with our assessor, Ally! The session also provided further important information and allowed for us to fully understand what was taught online through the practicals. The session was comfortable and easy to understand for all age groups and background. Highly recommend :)
Just did my CPR and Remote first aid with RTS. By far the best experience I had. Thought it would be a long boring day...it wasn't. Very dynamic course, with in the end a lot of fun (the scenarios at the end were really cool) and learned a lot, feeling more confident. The combo with the online learning is just the best, you do it on your own time schedule, and the videos are very clear and again...not boring. Highly recommend RTS, we had Natalie who was just perfect!
My first training experience at RTS for the first aid and CPR certification was a very positive one. The trainer was bubbly, helpful and informative, and asked in my view the right balance of questions, always probing the class for feedback and responses. Training equipment was in good working order and facility was spacious.
One of the best and enjoyable first aid courses I have ever had.Jess was fabulous she made the course content clear.Highly recommend RTS
My advanced first aid training at RTS was amazing! Alicia was a great instructor. She was knowledgeable and was eager to teach and train. The training was interactive. The simulation of “ an accident scene” at the end of training was nerve wrecking and practical application at the same time. Thank you Alicia and the team at RTS Training Group.
I completed the first aid training at the RTS facility in July 2022. The delivery of the material was done with great energy and in an interesting way. Overall I found the course to be excellent
Awesome place to do first aid course. Good communication and easy to learn. Casey is a good teacher. Staff are so friendly and happy. Would highly recommend.
Shout out to Casey for making the first aid course probably the most fun 90 minutes Ive ever spent in Osbourne park.
One of the better places that I have done first aid & CPR related training at. The trainer was good and they try your best do give you quality training.
Had a good laugh to lighten the mood! Practical was easy to do and adequate supply of resources. Factual, to the point and relevant!(12/01/22) I've just done my first aid refresher (HLTAID012 - Child Care First Aid) with RTS and I love how they never fail to impress me! I can't recommend this RTO enough. Content is context relevant and Casey was great at connecting with all participants! Instead of dreading renewals, I always look forward to them! Even better now that more content can be accessed online for training. Keep it up guys!
The best ever. Better than any training facility. Quick, professional and simple. I won't forget my training because it was taugh in a fast and efficient way. Other training providers got it completely wrong thinking that writing papers all day or being interrogated and tested is the way but that only builds pressure and confusion. Welcome to the new way of grasping knowledge and learning first aid. Best provider ever and the price is worth it because its not too cheap or too expensive. The cheap providers make you sit all day and the expansive ones also. RTS is a perfect balance
I am proud of RTS Training Group. I had the opportunity to refresh my first aid and also CPR course. I also give thanks to Casey for her time and passion to equip me with the necessary current learning skills. She teaches with passion and able to reach people with English as their second Language. Casey also respect diversity and teach with wisdom and knowledge. I therefore entreat all those who are looking forward to complete their first aid and CPR course, to register with RTS Training Group. They are the best in WA.
